Ideal Carpet Installation Locations

Places Where Homeowners Can Install Carpet

Perhaps more than any other factor, where you plan on installing your carpeting will have a direct affect on your material, installation, and labor costs. There are four distinct locations where homeowners can install carpeting, each of them with their own considerations:

  • High-Traffic Areas: These are the most used areas of your home, such as entry hallways, bedrooms, and living spaces. Carpeting in these locations need to be extremely durable to hold up to everyday wear and tear.
  • Low-Traffic Areas: Less commonly used areas of your home, such as storage spaces and dining rooms. Carpet durability is less important in these location, meaning you can prioritize style and color.

  • Rooms for Kids: Rooms meant for children, much like high traffic areas, must prioritize carpet durability in lieu of any other factor.
  • Carpet for Small, Medium or Large Room: Finally, a huge factor in cost will be the size of the room you are planning on carpeting. For smaller rooms, a lower quality carpet will usually suffice, with medium and large rooms needing higher quality, more durable material.
