Scope for ServiceWhale Ceramic Tile Installation Guide includes:

  1. Removal of the existing flooring (if present):

    prices are estimated based on ServiceWhale laminate installation historic pricing. Each case is evaluated individually depending on furniture in the room(s), size, location, house levels, type of existing floor, sub-floor type, and disposal regulations as your local law requirements demand.
  2. Installation of new ceramic tile flooring:

    prices are estimated based on ServiceWhale historic pricing for regular installation of new ceramic tile. Installation in special patterns, custom ceramic tile types, mixed installation and other complications in installation are not included in the estimator. For exotic ceramic tiles or sophisticated custom installation it is recommended to contact with professional contractor and or conduct onsite estimate.
  3. Cost of related materials and supplies typically required to install ceramic floor tile including:

    fabrication and polishing disposables,manufacturer recommended underlayment, fasteners, ceramic cutter, laser beam level, adhesives and surface sealants, typically required to install new ceramic tile floor are included in the price. Contractors are responsible for all materials needed for installation. Hand tools, glue and finishing materials, seals, nails, and other tools necessary for installation are included in the price and are under contractor's responsibility.
  4. Molding installation:

    estimated price includes labor for installation of ceramic shoe moldings (quarter rounds) and transition ceramic moldings, if customer selects so. Exotic ceramic or other material moldings are not included in price and should be purchased by homeowner unless agreed otherwise with the contractor. It is recommended to have matching ceramic molding for better durability and water protection.
  5. Other assumptions:

    • estimated price includes removal of vinyl/carpet/laminate from subfloor, removal of ceramic tile from wet bed or concrete floor, other installation cases (rarely common) may require on site estimate, and or extra labor, and or fees.
    • Installation of new floor may require subfloor repair (not included in price). In such cases it is recommended to send photos to contractor or to call to onsite estimate to avoid changes in price after and or during project beginning.
    • Price estimate includes new basic padding installation (labor + materials) for laminate, unless customer specified differently. Advanced padding (e.g. soundproof, waterproof, etc.) may be installed at an additional price. It is recommended to consult contractor about special installation cases.
    • Includes all other materials and tools required to complete the job.
  6. Disposal: price Includes disposal of the old flooring (if removal was requested by customer) according to local regulations and laws. Additional disposal of furnitures or other appliances or items should be negotiated with the contractor prior to finalizing the cost.
