Featured Contractor: Jermaine from Air Done Right Talks ServiceWhale

We recently had the opportunity to speak with Jermaine Howard, owner and operator of Air Done Right, a Philadelphia based HVAC company. It was really great to learn a little more about his business, how he got started and his experience with ServiceWhale.

ServiceWhale: How did you get started as a HVAC contractor?

Jermaine Howard: My family has a heating & air conditioning business in Tampa, Florida. Initially I wanted to go to school, go down there and move my family to Florida. As it turned out, my Uncle didn’t have all his paperwork in order. That’s when I decided to move my family back to the Philadelphia area to do my own thing and start from scratch. I went out and got a $400 truck and a bag of tools and just started my own business.

SW: When was it that you started Air Done Right?

JH: I started my business roughly seven years ago.

SW: How did you hear about ServiceWhale?

JH: My wife, who is the second edge of the sword, does all my lead generation. She found out about ServiceWhale and relayed that information to me.

SW: Do you know how your wife found us?

JH:  I believe she found you through a search on the Internet.

SW: So, how do you drive leads and web traffic?

JH: We use multiple websites that link into ours like Angie’s List. We also deal with warranty companies, private work, get business through word of mouth and we have contracts with the city.

SW: You’re using quite a variety of sources to get leads; what’s your typical cost to acquire a new customer?

JH: I’m not really sure. We’ve never broken it down. I do know that we spend approximately $500 a month on advertising though.

SW. Jermaine, it sounds as though you are quite busy. What do you like to do in your free time?

JH: I enjoy playing golf in my free time. I really like to go to Westover (Golf Club) a lot, just about every Sunday I head over there.

SW: That great that you get to go golfing most weekends. How has your experience with ServiceWhale been?

JH: I’ve gotten close to 10 leads already from ServiceWhale, which is great considering I didn’t have to pay a cent for any of them. A couple of them should turn into replacement jobs within the next couple of weeks. So far, ServiceWhale has been a great resource for Air Done Right.
