Types of Laminate Flooring

Direct Pressure Construction (DPL)

In direct pressure, or DPL construction, the laminate is created by all materials being fused together at one time. These materials, while still strong, aren’t as tough as HPL planks but are much less expensive to purchase and install and are still a strong means of laying floor in your home.

Thickness and Locking

There are many different forms of installation and thickness that you’ll want to consider when installing your laminate system. Flooring comes anywhere from about 7mm to a full 12mm thickness. Thicker planks, obviously, cost more but are more durable and are a good option if the subfloor beneath isn’t 100% level.
