The Best of the Best in Air Conditioning
We are nearly halfway through 2016, and already we have heard of so many great AC units out there. We have written about ACs before in our Different Types of Air Conditioners series, and now we are here to list the ACs we consider the best options. Here are the brands and series we consider the best of the best in air conditioning!
5. Maytag
The Maytag iQ Series has placed all over the top five lists for the past two years. In 2015, WebHVAC voted the iQ series fourth place. In 2016, Maytag boosted up to second place for WebHVAC. Meanwhile, the M1200 PSA4BI iQ Drive runs quietly at as low as 59 decibels. Its peak SEER rating is 25.5! Moreover, it includes a dehumidification system to operate at a comfortable temperature in your home. The series also offers the PGC2MO, the PSH4BI, and the PSA4BI.
4. American Standard
The American Standard’s Platinum series placed third on WebHVAC’s 2016 ranking and fourth in Central Air Conditioning Units Review’s 2016 list at toptenreviews.com. The series is Energy Star approved. The Platinum ZV boasts a SEER of 21 and humidity control. It runs at only 55 decibels, making it one of the quietest machines on our list. Other models in the series include the Platinum 95, AccuComfort Platinum 20, and AccuComfort Variable Speed Platinum 20.
3. Trane
The Trane XV series almost tied with American Platinum, but its variety of rankings pushed it to third place. The Trane XV20i has a SEER of 21 to 22 and has a 10 to 12-year warranty. It includes humidity control, a multi-stage compressor and is smartphone compatible. Like the Platinum ZV, the Trane XV makes only 55 decibels during operation. It is Energy Star qualified, too. Another model in the series is the XC95m.
2. Carrier
The Carrier Infinity series has a SEER of 21, humidity control and is Energy Star approved. It is a little louder than the other machines on this list, operating at 65 decibels, but its ten-year warranty, favorable efficiency, comfort and design reviews by Central Air Conditioning Units Review at toptenreviews.com should more than make up for the noise. WebHVAC ranked it number one in 2015 and number 5 in 2016. Furnace Compare listed it in third place in March. Carrier Infinity has consistently placed in the top five of 2015 and 2016 lists.
1. Dave Lennox
Both WebHVAC and Central Air Conditioning Units Review at toptenreviews.com named the Dave Lennox Signature Collection the number one in air conditioning this year. It has a SEER of one, a solar option, a multi-stage compressor, humidity control and is smartphone compatible. Running at only 59 decibels, the Lennox operates at a comfortable sound level. Lennox’s Signature Collection was voted Energy Star’s Most Efficient option of 2016, and we are proud to consider it our top AC too!
