Choosing the right AC system can make the difference between months and years of continued efficient and dependable use. When deciding on a new AC unit, it is important to keep in mind a number of things such as energy efficiency, warranty and durability among other things. A Little TLC For Your AC

Once you have the right AC unit installed in your home, the best way to keep it working at its max for years and years is by taking good care of it. Just like any of your other possessions, your AC unit also requires proper, routine care for its longevity. The way you take care of your unit may vary with the type of system you have, but you should generally regularly keep check of the unit’s condenser. The condenser is responsible for keeping the liquid inside the unit cool; therefore, it is important to make sure the condenser is always clean and free of debris and other clogs.

Taking care of your unit also means making sure that every part of it, along with the condenser, stays clean and clear of debris. Dirt and debris inside your unit can cause it to have to overwork and eventually die out a lot sooner. This dirt can also affect the air quality in your home and cause many health issues for yourself and your loved ones. Cleaning your AC can be done by either yourself or a professional. If you decide to clean your unit on your own, be sure to do it properly and ask for help when needed because improper cleaning can cause your AC even more damage. With ServiceWhale, you can find all the help you need for taking care of your AC system and keeping it clean for long-time use.

The summer time is definitely not the right time to find out your AC is not working or not functioning properly. With the right care, you can ensure the durability and longevity of AC unit for years to come. Check out ServiceWhale’s great deals and services today for the right HVAC system for your home.

Indeed, each air conditioning unit will require it’s own specific maintenance, but all share similarities. Keeping it clean of dust and such is good, as is changing it’s filter fairly often. I agree that the summer is a terrible time to find that your AC doesn’t work. To avoid this, I highly suggest you get it checked early spring/late winter.

Sarah, thanks for sharing your expertise with everyone. We completely agree that the AC should be checked bi-annually.
